The Moon A+ Armchair

The Moon chair is inspired by the Ming chair although Stefan Schöning has modified it to match the simple shape of the moon crescent. The innovative 3D woven stretch seat fabric offers support and spring and is integrated into the chair in a minimalistic manner. The combination of the wooden bow work, either stained or natural but always with the beauty of the grain showing through, and the light 3D material in place of the traditional foam seat, make Moon the ultimate in comfort and light design. This chair is perfectly suited to restaurants, bars, coffee shops and hotels.

New look Homebase Design Centres

So we travelled to Waltham Cross today to see our Bertie armchairs in their new home of Homebase, Waltham Cross.

Upon arrival we found that Homebase isn't actually Homebase.  A new store has evolved called Homebase Design Centre.  We actually drove past as we didn't recognise the store as a Homebase.

Homebase Design Centre, Worcester

Homebase Design Centre's have a nice new dark look and includes top brand names like Laura Ashley, Habitat, Sharps Bedroom and Home Office furniture and a really nice cafe.  They also have all the usual things you would expect from Homebase including DIY zone and a large garden centre.

Researching the Home Retail Group's website we found a little more about the new Homebase Design Centres explaining one that has opened in Worcester
'The new-look store on Elgar Retail Park, off Blackpole Road has a Decorating Ideas & Advice Centre, offering touch screen technology to help customers to transform the look of rooms in their homes. A free interior design service is also available, where City & Guilds trained decorating consultants can help them create personalised mood boards using real swatches of flooring, tiling, wallpaper and paint materials. After spending some time in the decorating centre and browsing products, customers can extend their stay in store by reflecting on ideas for their home in our brand new café.'http://www.homeretailgroup.com/news-and-media/news.aspx?smlbus=1520&article=5526#sthash.fHqOEM6p.dpuf

Our Bertie armchairs were situated in the Decoration & Ideas centres and looked very much at home.  The Bertie's have been made especially for Homebase with Sunbury Design Nappa Gum & Bijou fabrics.

To find out more about our work with Homebase Design Centres see our portfolio page on our website. - http://www.defrae.com/portfolio/homebase/

We thought the new stores were a real change and actually made for more of a Centre than a retail park store.  We had a little play on the touch screens and found them very responsive and gave us some ideas for our own house.  Of course the experience was heightened sitting in comfort on the Bertie armchairs.

We are delighted to see our furniture in these stores, if you have one near you then we do suggest you get down to have a browse around, you will be surprised.
